AcroMetrix Announces Launch of OptiChallenge Inhibition Panel

AcroMetrix announced at the Clinical Virology meeting in Clearwater Florida the launch of the OptiChallenge Inhibition Panel for use in evaluating the performance of an assay in the presence of interfering substances. The seven member panel is the first to provide quantified amounts of commonly recognized and accepted inhibitors. The panel members represent elevated levels of inhibitory substances that can be routinely encountered in the normal patient population.
Interfering substances such as heparin, lipids, bilirubin, and haemolyzed plasma are commonly found in patient samples. At minimal levels, these substances do not obstruct assay results. However, when levels...
