AARP Rolls Up Their Sleeves Nationwide, Gives Back to Local Communities

Across the nation, more than 33,000 volunteers, members and employees of AARP will fan out into their communities and get to work as part of the association's seventh annual Day of Service.

"Last year, 75 percent of Americans 50+ gave either time or money to their local communities," said AARP Chief Operating Officer Tom Nelson, who will be helping refurbish homes for low-income residents in Washington, DC. "AARP's Day of Service shows the difference that one day of collective effort and giving can accomplish."
