Paffenbarger Jr., MD, DrPH, an internationally known exercise authority and professor emeritus of health research and policy at the Stanford University School of Medicine, died peacefully at his home in Sante Fe, N.M., on July 9, following a long battle with congestive heart disease. He was 84.

A memorial service and reception will be held at the Stanford Faculty Club on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.
