Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee Rolls Out Welcome Mat to More Than 10,000 Media With 'A Celebration With Altitude!'

The Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee tonight officially welcomed to Denver more than 10,000 journalists and bloggers from around the world at A Celebration with Altitude!, its Media Welcome Party held at Elitch Gardens, Denver's historic 70-acre amusement and water park. The party, also attended by hundreds of presenting sponsors and VIPs, is the first official event to kick off the 2008 Democratic National Convention activities.

The evening featured an elaborate, celebratory welcoming procession through the park led by Native American dancers and drummers, followed by an official welcome from the Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee, including Colorado Governor...
