Cardiovascular discovery collaboration signed with DMI BioSciences

Biosite Incorporated (BSTE), a provider of novel, rapid medical diagnostics, announced that it has entered into a license and collaboration agreement with DMI BioSciences, Inc., under which Biosite intends to perform antibody development and marker validation of cysteinylated albumin (cys-albumin), a biomarker that is elevated in blood when a patient is undergoing ischemia.

Ischemia is an imbalance between oxygen supply and demand that leads to oxygen deficiency in tissues such as the heart. The American Heart Association estimates that 3 to 4 million Americans have ischemic episodes without even knowing it.
