Hepatocellular cancer patient outcome assessed after reduction surgery

The outcome of patients with hepatocellular cancer (HCC) with major vascular involvement after reduction surgery was assessed.

According to recent research published in the World Journal of Surgery, "The prognosis of advanced HCC remains poor, particularly in patients with tumor thrombi (TT) in the major vessels. From July 1992 to October 2004, 161 patients diagnosed as having advanced HCC with major vascular involvement were seen consecutively at our hospital."
