New bariatrics study findings have been reported by scientists at Emory University

"The feasibility and value of transthoracic dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) in patients scheduled for bariatric surgery has not been investigated. We evaluated 611 patients (86.6% female, 42 +/- 10 years, 136 18 kg, BMI 48.0 +/- 6.1 kg/m(2)) referred for DSE prior to surgery between February 2000 and July 2005," scientists writing in the journal Obesity Surgery report.
