Researchers from Ewha Womans University, Department of Laboratory Medicine describe findings in chronic myelogenous leukemia risk factors

A report, "MTHFR 677CC/1298CC genotypes are highly associated with chronic myelogenous leukemia: a case-control study in Korea," is newly published data in Leukemia Research. "Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is an enzyme involved in folate metabolism and DNA methylation. Studies on MTHFR polymorphism in leukemia have largely focused on the protective role of MTHFR polymorphism in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)," scientists writing in the journal Leukemia Research report.
