Scientists at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute publish research in waldenstrom macroglobulinemia immunology

Research findings, 'Establishment of BCWM.1 cell line for Waldenström's macroglobulinemia with productive in vivo engraftment in SCID-hu mice,' are discussed in a new report. "A significant impairment in understanding the biology and advancing therapeutics for Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (WM) has been the lack of a representative cell line and animal model. We, therefore, report on the establishment of the BCWM.1 cell line, which was derived from the long-term culture of CD19(+) selected bone marrow lymphoplasmacytic cells isolated from an untreated patient with WM," researchers in the United States report.
