Studies from A.B. Korkor et al have provided new data on dialysis

According to recent research published in the journal Dialysis & Transplantation, "Catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) is a source of significant morbidity and mortality in hemodialysis patients."

"Several strategies for CRBSI prevention have been investigated. Not all have proven effective and those that have are not without risk," wrote A.B. Korkor and colleagues.

The researchers concluded: "There is a critical need for a safe and effective method for preventing CRBSI."
