New Tests Beneficial in Assessing Response to Vaccine

Researchers from German described a newly developed test to detect antibody to hepatitis A virus (anti-HAV), which should be of use in assessing the immunoresponse to the hepatitis A vaccine.

G. Hess and colleagues, Boehringer Mannheim GmbH, Mannheim, Germany, stated that the test has high sensitivity and the possibility to quantitate, using anti-HAV standards with known anti-HAV content ("Analysis of Immunoassays to Detect Antibodies to Hepatitis a Virus (Anti-HAV) and Anti-HAV Immunoglobulin M," Journal of Virological Methods, 1995;51:221-228).
