Vertical Transmission of HEV Suspected in Infant Deaths

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection in pregnant women may cause fetal death, researchers report.

Hepatitis E is commonly associated with pregnant women in endemic areas, and clinicians frequently confront difficulties of defining the outcome of pregnancy and fetal and perinatal morbidity and mortality.
