According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 7th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, held March 26-30, 1995, in Vienna, Austria, "The route of transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are similar. Especially at risk are drug addicts and homosexuals. The aim of the undertaken research was to assess the prevalence of HIV, HBV and HCV infections in groups of drug addicts and homosexuals - the patients of the Clinic of Infectious Diseases in Cracow.
