Increased gallbladder wall thickness (GBWT) has been reported on ultrasonography in patients with AVH. However, the underlying mechanisms and clinical significance of such an observation are not well understood. In many conditions, it may be possible to observe a thick-walled gallbladder. Such conditions include biliary diseases like acute cholecystitis as well as nonbiliary disorders like congestive cardiac failure and chronic renal failure....
