"Prospects for Antiviral Therapy in Liver Transplantation."

According to an abstract submitted by the author to the 19th International Congress of Chemotherapy, held July 16-21, 1995, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, " Problems of reinfection in the graft occur mainly with hepatitis B (and D) as well as C infections when transplantation is for end-stage liver disease due to, or associated with, these viral infections. Although occasionally hepatitis A reinfection occurs after transplantation for fulminant viral hepatitis, it is of little clinical consequence and there are a few documented instances where an apparent non-A, B, or C viral infection has re-occurred.
