Treatment Can Determine Appearance of Antithyroid Antibodies

An Italian study confirmed that in some patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) interferon treatment can determine the appearance of anti-thyroid antibodies.

In most patients, the finding is reversible with the disappearance of antibodies after therapy is discontinued, added Carlo Carella, Second University, Naples, Italy, and colleagues.
