According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Progress in Clinical Virology meeting, held September 10-14, 1995, in Prague, Czech Republic, "Five triple plaque purified vaccinia virus (W) lines generated from smallpox Sevac VARIE vaccine (strain Praha) and three W virus lines derived from Wyeth DRWAX vaccine, all of which had previously been tested in mice for residual virulence and immunogenicity, were used for preparation of recombinants expressing the hepatitis B virus (HBV) preS2-S gene.
