According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the European Conference on Tropical Medicine, held October 22-26, 1995, in Hamburg, Germany, "Since clinical importance of hepatitis A virus infection becomes more and more important research on new and improved vaccines against hepatitis A is stimulated. A major objective in this respect is the simplification and reduction of the vaccination procedures. We investigated a new liposomal hepatitis A vaccine developed by the Swiss Serum and Vaccine Institute clinically and immunologically in 112 volunteers.
