Procollagen III Peptide Predictive of IFN Response

Low levels of procollagen III peptide appear to be predictive of initial response to interferon treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis, according to a report from Italy.

The report was one of several evaluating procollagen III peptide (PIIIP) levels in interferon-treated hepatitis patients presented at the VII International Symposium on Viral Hepatitis, held January 25-27, 1996 in Madrid, Spain.
