Hormone + DHEA + Antigen Induces Common Mucosal Immunity

Subcutaneous inoculation with small amounts of antigen in combination with a steroid hormone induced common mucosal immunity in an animal model.

The immunomodulatory effect of the hormone, 1(alpha),25-dihydroxy vitamin D₃ (1,25(OH)₂ D₃ ), was further increased by coadministration of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).
