Patients in India Ashamed To Tell Doctors They Have AIDS

When a patient from India found out he was infected with HIV, the shame was too much and he planned to inject himself with the Hepatitis B virus so everyone would think he died of jaundice.

He changed his mind after realizing that being HIV positive did not mean he'd die tomorrow. There was enough time to live the rest of his life to the fullest, doing what he liked best.

But after Mumbai's gay community boycotted him, the man decided not to come out in the open. "I'm not going to be a martyr for nothing. Society is not yet ready for openness," he said ruefully.
