According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 11th International Conference on AIDS, held July 7-12, 1996, in Vancouver, British Columbia, "Introduction: Liver disease secondary to HCV infection is a rising cause of morbidity and mortality amongst HIV+ individuals, mainly in those infected parenterally such as injecting drug users, hemophiliacs and transfused patients.
