"Thymosin + Interferon Combination Treatment Improves Response in Chronic HCV Infection."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 4th International Meeting on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses, Molecular Virology and Pathogenesis, held March 6-10, 1997, in Kyoto, Japan, "A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to compare the efficacy of combination therapy with thymosin alpha-1 (TA-1) + interferon alfa 2b (IFN) with that seen for IFN alone in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection was performed. 110 patients were randomized to receive TA-1 1.6 mg sq biw + IFN 3 MU tiw or IFN 3 MU tiw + placebo TA-1 or placebo for both products.
