Viruses in Human Ig Successfully Inactivated in Animal Model

LifeTECH Corporation, Toronto, Canada, announced research results indicating its Sterinetics System successfully inactivated a herpes virus and a hepatitis C-like virus in human immunoglobulin in an animal model.

LifeTECH's Sterinetics System sterilizes blood and blood products.

Dr. Peter Lea, LifeTECH's Director of Research and Development, presented the studies' results in an abstract to the 10th International Society for Antiviral Research Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia, this month. The abstract is entitled "Inactivation of Enveloped and Non-Enveloped Viruses by Ozone Induced Oxidative Stress."
