"Does Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Coinfection Accelerate Clinical and Biological Evolution of HIV Infected Patients?"

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th ICAAC, held September 28 - October 1, 1997, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "HCV is a frequent viral pathogen in patients with HIV infection, especially haemophiliacs and intra-venous drug users (IVDU). However the real influence of HCV co-infection in this population is still not yet established. A longitudinal study was conducted in the Infectious Diseases Dept of Dijon to appreciate the effect of HCV on clinical and biological evolution of HIV infected patients.
