"Pharmacokinetics of Lamivudine in Chronic Hepatitis B Virus-Infected Patients Undergoing Liver Transplantation."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th ICAAC, held September 28 - October 1, 1997, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "Lamivudine is predominantly renally cleared with dose reduction recommended below 50 mL/min Clcr. We have investigated lamivudine PK in patients with end stage chronic HBV undergoing liver transplantation and subsequent multiple drug therapy. Lamivudine was given orally 100 mg once-daily pre- and post-transplant and three times daily peri-transplant. PK assessments were performed on Day 1 and Day 14 of treatment (pre-transplant) and then 3 months after transplant.
