Report on HCV Epidemic Indicates Time To Stop Disease

The American Liver Foundation (ALF), San Diego Chapter in California, has called on all public health officials and the state's lawmakers to follow the recommendations of a new report by the California Center for Health Improvement (CCHI).

The report has found that hepatitis C is a significant public health threat, reporting of the disease is minimal and implementation of statewide policy on this disease should be considered.

"This report indicates that hepatitis C has reached alarming numbers in the United States, yet public awareness of the disease is dangerously low," said W.G. Hardison, M.D., San Diego Chapter of the American Liver Foundation. ...
