"Hepatocellular Carcinoma."

According to an abstract submitted by the author to the American Liver Foundation, Hepatitis B Transplant Symposium, held June 12-14, 1998, "Hepatocellular carcinoma is a common malignancy worldwide. In 1985, over 300,000 cases were reported in the world, accounting for over 4% of all cancers. This cancer is more common in men and it is estimated that 70% of the cases are from Asia. Reports in ethnic Chinese population from many areas of the world, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and China have shown that over 80% of all cases of hepatocellular carcinoma are HBsAg positive.
