"Case Control Study of Relative Risk of Hepatitis B, C and Seroprevalence of HIV in Health Care Workers in an Indian Hospital."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 8th International Congress on Infectious Diseases, held May 15-18, 1998, in Boston, Massachusetts, "The increasing prevalence of HIV infection has increased overall concern among health care worker's (HCW) about the blood borne pathogens and transmission to health care providers. This study was undertaken to assess the relative risk of Hepatitis B, C and HIV in HCW. Total of 175 HCW as subjects with 175 controls (Medical students, student Nurses and laboratory technician in school and those not ever handling any blood or secretions) which were age, sex and profession matched were taken.
