Schistosoma Patients with HCV May Develop Earlier Liver Disease

Schistosoma patients who have complicating hepatitis C virus infection may develop liver disease earlier than those without HCV infection.

This study was conducted by researcher A. Mohamed and colleagues to determine whether hepatitis C virus infection has a role in patients with schistosomal liver disease ("Impact of HCV Infection on Schistosomal Liver Disease," Hepatogastroenterology, September-October 1998;45(23):1492-1496).
