Positive Hepatitis B Phase III Trial Data Reported

SmithKline Beecham Biologicals (SB Bio), Rixensart, Belgium, and Ribi ImmunoChem Research Inc., Hamilton, Montana, announced safety and efficacy results of a hepatitis B vaccine being developed specifically for low or non-responders to current vaccine formulations.

"We are extremely pleased with the results of this hepatitis B study," indicated Jean Stephenne, SB Bio. "Engerix-B is an excellent vaccine against hepatitis B for most people, and over 450 million doses have been distributed to date worldwide.
