Angiogenesis Scores Could Identify Patients at Risk

Angiogenesis is an early stage in the natural history of hepatocellular carcinoma, researchers concluded.

Angiogenesis scores could be used to identify patients with hepatitis C virus at particular risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma, said Robert D. Goldin and colleagues ("Angiogenesis Correlates with the Development of Dysplasia and Liver Cell Cancer in Patients with Hepatitis C Virus Infection," Hepatology, 1998;28(No.4, Pt.2):164A).
