According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Association of Blood Banks, held October 31 - November 4, 1998, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, "Background: Isolated NS5 reactivity in RIBA T11 is not associated with HCV infection. The addition of NS5 resulted in a new group of blood donors with false-positive results. Therefore, a peptide analysis of NS5 only reactive sera was performed.
