"Autoimmune Hepatitis Occurring de novo Following Orthotopic Liver Transplantation in Adults."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 18th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Transplantation, held May 15-19, 1999, in Chicago, Illinois, "Background: Graft dysfunction that does not result from recognized causes such as rejection, infection, vascular, or biliary complications can occur late following liver transplantation. A recent report in children described a particular type of graft dysfunction, previously unrecognized, associated with autoimmune features occurring de novo, while they were on anti-rejection immunosuppression.
