Vigilance Needed in Vaccinating Gay Men Against HBV

Sexually active gay men are still not being vaccinated against hepatitis B virus in large enough numbers, according to the results of a Canadian study.

Researcher A. Dufour and colleagues from a university hospital in Quebec examined factors associated with hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccination status among HIV uninfected men who have affective and sexual relations with men (MASM) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada ("Factors Associated with Hepatitis B Vaccination Among Men Having Sexual Relations with Men in Montreal, Quebec, Canada," Sex Transm Dis, July 1999;26(6):317-324).
