Almost 3 Million in U.S. Have Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infection

The latest figures from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest that 2.7 million people in the United States are chronically infected with hepatitis C virus.

The report, published by the CDC's Hepatitis Branch, found that the majority of infected individuals either have a history of intravenous drug use or have engaged in high-risk sexual behavior.
