Specialty Clinics Conducive To Completing Hepatitis B Vaccination Series

A study conducted in San Diego County, California, suggests that immunizing adults and adolescents at risk for contracting the hepatitis B virus is accomplished more easily, with the series more likely to be completed, at specialty service clinics rather than multi-service community clinics.

R.A. Gunn, of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, and colleagues from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention assessed a community-wide HBV immunization program in clinical and non-clinical settings targeting high-risk individuals to determine which "successfully implement [HBV] vaccination services."
