Professional and Patient Groups Join to Advocate for Safer Blood

Calling for stepped up efforts to protect blood transfusion recipients from serious and deadly diseases like AIDS and hepatitis, the Committee of Ten Thousand, the Hepatitis B Foundation, and other professional and patient advocacy groups will be meeting to plan the formation of The Coalition for Blood Safety.

This announcement was made during the US Department of Health and Human Services Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability in Washington.
