M.H. Kaplan and colleagues of the North Shore University Hospital, New York, selected 71 patients infected with both HCV and HIV for their study. Study participants were of both sexes and various ethnic backgrounds. A majority (n=64) had acquired HIV through intravenous drug use, the scientists said.
