Hepatitis A/B Vaccine

Combination Vaccine Offers Protection Equivalent to Monovalent Therapies

According to Jane Zuckerman at the Royal Free and University College Medical School in London, U.K., combined hepatitis A/B vaccine offers as much protection as the monovalent A and B vaccines and yields a faster anti-hepatitis A virus (HAV) response.

An added advantage is that fewer injections are required.

Zuckerman reported her findings at the 10th International Symposium on Viral Hepatitis and Liver Disease, held recently in Atlanta, Georgia. The title of her study presentation was "Rapid Protection Against Hepatitis A and B Following Accelerated Schedule of a Combined Hepatitis A/B Vaccine."
