Scientists Study Hepatitis B Carrier Characteristics in New Zealand

Researchers at the Hepatitis Foundation in New Zealand have not only determined the carriage rate of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in a community in the North Island, but also the common markers associated with this disease in that population.

The results of this epidemiological study were reported in the New Zealand Medical Journal (N. Hopkirk et al., "Liver function and hepatitis markers in carriers of hepatitis B virus in New Zealand," New Zealand Med J, 2000;113(1107):114-116).
