A multidisciplinary group of experts gathered to sharpen the focus on prevention strategies against hepatitis A, which, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), remains one of the most frequently reported vaccine-preventable diseases in the U.S., despite the availability since 1995 of a hepatitis A vaccine.

Convened by the American Liver Foundation (ALF), the meeting responds to hepatitis A immunization recommendations made recently by the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
