Viral RNA Stable When Blood Sample Stored Below 25(degree)C

HIV-1 and hepatitis C virus (HCV) viral RNA is stable in whole blood and plasma specimens when stored in temperatures up to 25(degree)C, according to industry researchers.

Research results were presented in Los Angeles, California, at the 100th General Meeting of the American Society for General Microbiology ("HIV-1 and Hepatitis C Viral RNA Stability in Whole Blood and Plasma Specimens Measured by Transcription-Mediated Amplification").
