Zadaxin Prevents Formation of Lung Tumors in NIH Study

SciClone Pharmaceuticals (SCLN) announced the publication of results of a U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) preclinical study indicating that its Zadaxin immunotherapy may decrease formation of lung tumors.

The study, published in Cancer Letters (2000;155:121-127), was conducted at the NIH's National Cancer Institute (NCI) by Terry W. Moody, PhD and his colleagues. The effects of Zadaxin were investigated using a mouse model of urethane-induced tumor carcinogenesis.
