 Helicobacter hepaticus Not a Factor for Disease in IL-10 Deficient Mice

Mice lacking the gene for expressing interleukin (IL)-10 are not highly susceptible to Helicobacter hepaticus infection, nor do they experience any greater degree of colitis or other associated symptoms of that sort any more than IL-10 positive mice do, scientists report.

"H. hepaticus has been reported to induce colitis, hepatitis, and hepatocellular carcinoma in several different murine models," commented L.A. Dieleman and colleagues in the report.
