Immunization Would be Economically Beneficial in Argentine Children

Routine vaccination of children in Argentina against hepatitis A virus (HAV) would be economically beneficial, researchers from that country announced.

"HAV remains one of the most frequently reported vaccine-preventable diseases in Argentine children," reported Roberto Debbag and colleagues from the Fundacion Center de Estudios Infectologicos and the Hospital J.P. Garrahan, Buenos Aires. "Although an inactivated vaccine is available, no economic analysis of mass immunization strategies against HAV has been carried out in our country."
