International Study Reveals Hepatitis B Risk Factors

An international consortium of research institutions has been lending their knowledge and resources to a major endeavor called The Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Pattern Study.

One outcome of that study has been an assessment of the risk factors associated with hemodialysis and hepatitis B virus (HBV) transmission and acquisition. J.D. Woods and associates recently presented a report of that analysis at the American Society of Nephrology's Renal Week 2000 conference, which was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
