Phase II alpha Interferon Clinical Trial Continues

Viragen, Inc. (VRA), Plantation, Florida, reported very encouraging interim results in the treatment of hepatitis C patients with its lead drug Omniferon.

Consequently, additional patients are now being enrolled in the second stage of the multi-center European Phase II trial. Omniferon is a multi-subtype alpha interferon derived from human white blood cells.

PPD Pharmaco, Inc., an independent Contract Research Organization (CRO), is executing Viragen's Phase II Clinical Trials in Europe to obtain objective data for submission to the regulatory authorities. The second stage of the Phase II trial will compare different dosing levels as compared to...
