A study of more than 1,000 serum samples acquired from various population groups in Italy indicates GB virus C/hepatitis G (GBV-C) infections are distributed throughout the country. Although infection rates are higher in some immigrant groups, evidence points to some infections in those groups being contracted in Italy.
