Cancer Risk Similar In Primary Biliary And HCV-Related Disease

by Sonia Nichols, senior medical writer - Patients with higher-stage primary biliary cirrhosis have the same risk for developing primary liver cancer as do patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV)-related cirrhosis.

The overall risk for liver cancer in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis is lower, however, researchers at the University of Barcelona in Spain report.
